little stray, meet your new destiny

as of Monday morning, she'll be off of her stray hold and she'll be a BADRAP dog.

as of Tuesday, she'll be spayed and while she's under, we hope to learn why her ears don't work (she's stone cold deaf).

as of two weeks ago, we all fell much in love with her.

her name is (will be).... Hurdy Gurdy.  Gurdy for short.

  2. She is precious in that outfit. She will be okay even being deaf in your hands. Bad Rap will take good care of her. The name is great by the way and we hope you all have fun in the parade tomorrow. Spread the love and the compassion like you always do.

  3. One of my dogs is deaf and we have worked out some simple hand signals that work for the most important things like going out to potty etc. Amazingly they adapt pretty well to the daily routine. My other dogs seem to go and get him if needed. Gertie is adorable and probably has made herself right at home with you. Have a great day tomorrow!

  8. Hey sweet Gertie -- normally it's not a good idea to get into a stranger's car :) but just this once you made the smart choice! You landed in a really good place and life will only get better from now on. Wishing you all the best and hoping the deafness can be undone.
