thank you for for donating the soft fuzzy places to lay my pointy bones,
for helping the Nice People build the barn where I'm safe,
for the comfort of Frida's once-favorite rain jacket,
to the nice lady who stopped her car when I was lost and nearly dead in Oakland,
to the volunteer people who are my new family,
for the warm thoughts that come from people I don't know,
for the bully sticks that let me chew and chew and chew until I fall asleep,
never hungry again.
and for my new name.
I'm not 'Skinny Girl' anymore. I'm Miss Birdy and it's so nice to meet you.

ReplyDeleteHey Donna, will Miss Birdy be looking for a home, or is she just staying in the comfort and safety of the Barn for awhile? She looks to be about my speed. I'd be interested. Anneke
ReplyDeleteHi gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Anneke. Thanks for mulling. We're getting test results back on Monday so we can learn what if any health concerns she might have. If she has cancer (suspected), we'll be looking for a hospice home.
ReplyDeleteHowever it shakes out though, she does have some spunk and isn't nearly ready to melt away. I don't know what your particulars are these days, but how 'bout you check back here for the known vet-details early week and we can go from there?
Sounds good, Donna. Thank you, Anneke
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Birdy. Love the name. Here's hoping only good news for you from now on. Enjoy all the love coming your way. Know only good things from now on.
