oh doh! too much Blink.

Two days before our big adoption event, Miss Blink decided to raid a bag of kibble and make a few alterations to her fine figure. Thanks to a fast and a few good poo-poos, she went back down to Blink size in time to meet the public. But we couldn't help but snap a shot of her looking miserable in her Halloween pumpkin disguise. B-U-R-P!

She's finally starting to attract a new wave of adoption interest since we started listing her as a Boston Terrier mix on petfinder. Before then, our fine pit bull shoppers who were insisting she was a 'Pocket Pit' would give her a cuddle, then turn to us and proclaim, "But she's not a pit bull!"

Us: "But that's what we've been trying to tell you!" - Doh!

Oh Blink! You'll find your way soon, you little imposter girl.

  1. She is just adorable. I am glad she is not feeling so bloated now. I agree a Boston mix I could see.

  2. Oh no, a bloated Blinky! Being a dog and all, she probably didn't learn a lesson from this escapade, either! I hope this funny little boston-pit bull-whatzit-terrier kinds a home soon--one with limited access to the kibble bag, that is!

  3. So cute. I am glad she is all better. Great reminder about the dangers of mislabeling any dog and that maybe it would be better to not guess on the breed of a dog and give all dogs a fair break in life. Adorable Blink. Hope you find your perfect home soon.

  4. True enough about labels. Pit bull groups like ours tend to carry dogs that are predominantly pit bull, hence the confusion Blink has stirred. Unfortunately attracting people who understand toy breeds = using existing software on adoption sites, and these sites require punching in breed type for every dog download. It's a frustrating reality that needs to be fixed. Blink is likely a Boston-something-mix, but even if she's not, labeling her this way is one solution for attracting toy breed ppl while fending off shoppers who expect her to be a tiny pit bull. (She's not I tellya, she's NOT! - lol)

  5. I had forgotten how the little dogs really swell up when they get a chance to gorge themselves - little Blinkie is just about to roll away. I am shocked that she has not been adopted yet. She's super cute, and you get all that good terrier stuff wrapped inside a much smaller package than the average a 35-50 pounder pit bull type. She'll find a home soon - she's a sweetie.

  6. My corgi has sported the "Veruca Salt" look a couple times... It was the end result of eating his own food and then cleaning the bowl of a room mate who eats a WAAAAY bigger portion than him. I try to be as vigilant as possible when it comes to feeding time.. but that little bastard waits for the perfect moment when something calls me away... ugh. The couple times he's done it, he's always miserable after. Too stuffed to function.. and yet, it seems worth it to him. Ah, doggies!

  7. Well I heart me some Boston - terrier and town, its some of the same stock that went into the pit bull. I can see she is more toy breed but how specifically? I'd take her in a heart beat.
